ERP Conduct Rules

> DECRYPTING SERVER GUIDELINES... DONE.

Clamp Station is, by and large, an environment designed for Erotic Roleplay, and as such, no individual under the age of 18 is allowed to play here, and any suspicion of being under the age of 18 will be thoroughly investigated. Anyone found to be under 18 will be immediately banned and allowed re-entry only upon proof of proper age, following lengthy deliberation by the Staff team.

Do note that ERP Conduct Rules are taken just as seriously as the Core rules, as Clamp Station places a strong focus on these topics.

If you cannot respect the consent and comfort of your fellow Players, you don’t belong here.

ERP-1: Consent and Preference

As an environment featuring Mature Topics, Clamp Station requires players to respect each other's consent and preferences to ensure it is suitable for all tastes.

This means a variety of things, but most notably:

Do note that violations of this rule will be taken very seriously and may result in harsher punishments depending on the nature of the offense. The comfort and safety of our players is of the highest importance to us.

ERP-2: Privacy and Concealment

Due to the nature of certain topics and activities, parties engaging in them must ensure they create a private environment separate from the general player base.

This is mostly relegated to extreme, unorthodox, or less morally acceptable kinks, but should be taken as a general guideline, even for tamer topics.

This rule should be self-explanatory; don’t make people uncomfortable via exposure.

The best way to keep a scene Private is by using Dorms, Infinidorms, or by creating a public space out of a pre-existing structure, such as Maintenance rooms, best signified by a Holoprojector from the Lustwish Vendors.

This rule is largely aimed at more extreme tastes that may be uncomfortable for many, and essentially anything beyond Vanilla Tastes.

And while public scenes are tolerated to an extent, being asked to leave is considered an ultimatum.

When a person or party requests that you take your scene to a private area due to disturbance, you are required to leave the Area. This is specifically for public areas and is reserved for players in those areas, whether in a department or at the bar.

Some spaces, depending on the circumstances, are exempt from this, provided they have been privatized.

This may be the Chapel harboring more sexual Religions, a strip club/Brothel Bar, or any other area specifically designed for, and retrofitted to sport sexual content. Just try not to make Sexgineering or massively retrofit absolutely essential Areas for such, as it very well may cause problems.

The essential parts for such retrofit areas are clear notice, obscuration by shutters or curtains, or remote placement, alongside ERP Barriers in an optimal case. Please make it clear to others.

ERP-3: Exclusivity and Distinction

While sexual conduct is generally accepted for Clamp Station, it should remain exclusive to itself and largely separate from the round, its ongoing story, and its dynamic. In short, don’t turn sexual conduct into a plot point, nor a mechanical advantage.

This includes, but is not limited to;

As a general rule of thumb, don’t stir ERP drama outside of the consenting parties of participants, and don’t use ERP for mechanical gain.

ERP-4: The Integrity Rule

Due to the nature of Space Station 13, a particular array of Roles holds an increased importance to the flow of the Round, and thus requires these Roles to be mechanically present for proper round function.

This is largely relevant to Head Roles and other roles, depending on the Station's circumstances.

For non-head Roles, you are highly encouraged to use the Plexagon Punch Clock App on your PDA to clock out of your job, in order to avoid being called upon.

Head Roles, however, are always expected to be available in case of emergencies or to ensure that someone can cover their absence and perform the required duties, which should be cleared with said someone before any leave.

Do not neglect your responsibilities above all. If you do not wish to bear the burden of responsibility, don’t play a Head role, because you are expected to ensure the continued operation of the Station as such a role, and your neglect may end the round prematurely for others.

Continued refusal to adequately fulfill the responsibilities of a Head Role for the sake of ERP may result in being barred from such roles, especially if consequences arise from such behavior.

In addition to the responsibilities of Head Roles, relevant personnel are required to maintain certain items and their availability. Don’t take the Spare Captain’s ID to a private area, nor any door remotes or other essential Items.

Afterword

Many of these Rules and rulings on violations depend on the circumstances and the severity of the offense, and may be handled with leniency or lead to further escalation based on such.

What Clamp Station strives for is an environment of Comfort and Acceptance, and as such, the majority of the ERP conduct rules are fashioned around such. Due to the flexible nature and interpretation of these rules, it is highly recommended to follow their spirit rather than their letter, as they are written with a strong emphasis on brevity to make them easier to read.

The spirit of these rules is to forgo judgment and avoid the friction that arises from conflict over certain topics and themes. We do not want any kinkshaming, nor do we want players to be exposed to topics they may find uncomfortable or distressing. As such, the highest demand we place on our Playerbase is Obscurity and Respect.

Respect your fellow Player, and their tastes, as every person has a right to their own preference, so long as those preferences do not breach certain Limits. (You should know what this means)

Obscure to the Unwilling, and seek privacy, as every person has a right to ignorance. Not everyone is comfortable with the same topics as you are, and some can find certain things distressing or worse. Hence, all players are expected to avoid nonstandard topics without prior consent of affected parties, and to use such topics in a private space.

In short, don’t flashbang people with info they might not wish to know, do your dirty deeds in a clearly marked, private place, and accept that different preferences apply; we do not allow judgment, just as we don’t allow harmful exposure.
